Recognizing Toxic People and How to Deal with Them

Posted by Tami Baker on February 16, 2019 at 8:50 PM
Toxic people do more harm than good, because they have so much poison inside them from their conflict with God and themselves that it spills out in emotional, spiritual and physical damage to others. They leave you feeling emotionally drained, exhausted and can even leave you feeling distant from God. These people are emotionally immature, narcissistic, and constantly try to manipulate others. ~ Scripture S... Read Full Post »

Time has been labeled as one of our most valuable assets and I have found that to be true.  The older I get the more precious time is becoming and time wasted is becoming my biggest regrets.  The Bible tells us to redeem the time because the days are evil. Time should be dealt with carefully because once it is gone it is over. Now that our boys are all teenagers I have found myself asking questions such as "where has the time gone" or "I wish time wo...

Start Your Day With Jesus

Posted by Joseph Green on January 2, 2019 at 9:15 PM

As I get older I find I enjoy a good cup of coffee more often than I used too. Maybe it’s that boost of energy and awareness that it gives me. I certainly need more of that nowadays, but I enjoy the flavor too. That first bitter taste of a hot beverage in the morning tends to open my eyes as I prepare for a new day each and every morning. We make a fresh pot almost every morning and by noon it’s depleted and sometimes a second pot is made. Our household is a household of coffee d...

Our Best Praise

Posted by Charles Holsinger on December 30, 2018 at 9:25 PM

Another year has come and gone and a new year is just hours away. This is always a good time of year to take spiritual inventory of our lives. No doubt there are things on your to do list that have not been checked off in 2018.  Some of those things will simply move over to the list of things we hope to accomplish in 2019 and other items will simply be left undone. As we have been in church this week for our end of the year revival I have been challenging the people of Win...

Thanksgiving Every Day

Posted by Susan Green on November 17, 2018 at 9:00 PM
Every November we are reminded to give thanks. For some the holiday has been reduced to ''Turkey Day'', the emphasis being placed on the traditional meal of turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie, etc.. For some it means gathering with family and friends that we don't see often, telling stories of childhood and times gone by. And for still others, it has simply become the day before ''Black Friday'', when the frenzy of Christmas shopping really begins. But do we really need a holiday to remembe... Read Full Post »

Personal Sacrifice

Posted by Joseph Green on October 9, 2018 at 3:30 PM

At a recent O.A.S.I.S. (Older Adults Sharing In Service) meeting, the Lord Had laid it upon my heart to talk about sacrifice. In studying for the meeting, He kept back to David's sacrifice of water from the well, (1 Chronicles 11). Of how badly David wanted that drink of water, and all that his  mighty men had risked to get it for him. And then he just poured it onto the ground. So, I began to ask, "Lord, why are you showing me this? What are you try...

He Will Keep His Promises

Posted by Charles Holsinger on September 17, 2018 at 8:25 PM

There is many seasons and changes in life.  Some are welcomed and anticpated and others are feared and rejected.  However, one can be certain that life will have many changes.  It is often necessary that in order for new things to happen there must be a change or a shift.  During the changing of times and seasons there is always room for challenges. Those challenges, while usually unwelcomed, is necessary to prepare us for the next season in our life.  ...

He Hath Made Everything Beautiful

Posted by Charles Holsinger on July 21, 2018 at 9:55 PM

I was just sitting in my office looking out the window. As I was preparing to study my Bible I began meditating on on God and all of His wonderful creations outside my window. As I looked up I saw the gorgeous blue sky peeking through the puffy white clouds. I watched for awhile as the clouds passed by gently rolling and conforming into various shapes and sizes. I began to wonder why these shapes? Why do the sizes range so differently? Why are they white? Oh I know science can give some expla...

My Box Of Chocolates

Posted by Susan Green on May 22, 2018 at 2:15 PM

There was a movie that came out in 1994 that everyone is familiar with called Forrest Gump. And in it, his mother told him that "life is like a box of choc'lates Forrest, you never know what you're gonna get."

I guess that little nugget of wisd...
